Václav Havel Airport Prague is a Czech international airport with up to 18 million travelers on a yearly basis (2019), and is the main base for airlines such as Smartwings, Ryanair or Czech Airlines. It was built during 1933-1937 and renamed from the original name Ruzyně to Vaclav Havel Airport Prague in 2012 after the first president of the Czech Republic. With its 2 terminals, the airport offers up to 80 retail units such as book shops, perfumeries, duty-free shops, gift items, luxury and variety of coffees and restaurants. Due to the pandemic, amount of travelers decreased to 4.5 million in 2021 with the expectation of coming back to pre-pandemic numbers in 2025/2026.
